What the Collective is

Most training ends in a certificate. This ends in a commission. You learn the studio pipelines, sit in a network of people doing the same, and get paid when the work comes in.

Nine disciplines

Every member is logged by discipline, toolset and availability. Take any one of them to see what it does here.

What you get
Training on live pipelines

Hands on, on real client projects, at studio standard. Not exercises and not a syllabus that ends in a certificate.

Access to the studio toolset

The engines, procedural systems and asset library the studio builds for its own production, rather than whatever you can afford alone.

Paid commissions

When work comes in that matches your discipline, members get called first. The training is the route in, not the product.

A network that teaches itself

The Collective runs as a peer group. Members review each other's work, share methods and pass on what they learn, the studio is one voice in it, not the only one.

How members earn
Commissioned project work

Paid at studio rates on client projects, scoped per brief and per discipline.

Ongoing production runs

Sector clients on a monthly cadence need consistent capacity. That is recurring, predictable work rather than one-off jobs.

Contribution to studio IP

Owned properties like Metagenus are built by many hands. Members who contribute share in what the IP earns when it licenses.

Where the Collective is

28 members across 8 territories

Members work from wherever they are and commission through Abu Dhabi. Each whorl is a territory, weighted by how many people sit there.

06 / 09  ·  Collective
Open commissions

What the studio is matching from the database right now. Members are called against these before anything goes to an open hiring round.

The hub

The talent database

Every member is logged by discipline, toolset and availability. When a brief lands, the studio searches the database rather than starting a hiring round, which is why membership converts into work.

Learning sideways

Members run reviews and share methods with each other. A game developer explains engine constraints to a 3D artist; the artist shows what the pipeline can actually produce. That exchange is the point.

Based at Yas Creative Hub

The studio sits inside the Abu Dhabi media and gaming cluster, so the Collective trains into a real local industry rather than into a vacuum.

In partnership with
Abu Dhabi GamingDepartment of Culture and Tourism, Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Gaming leads the emirate's talent development for games and esports. The Collective trains into that same ecosystem, from Yas Creative Hub.
